At Dessin Academy, our Intermediate Course – Level 2 helps children enhance their artistic skills through advanced object drawing, composition, and colouring techniques. This course is carefully designed for kids based on assessment, age, and grade, focusing on developing creativity, observation, and visual accuracy.
Building upon the foundation from Level 1, students explore family colours, mixing techniques, and advanced use of oil and poster colours. They also learn to draw and paint houses, trees, vehicles, animals, birds, human figures, portraits, and landscapes, gaining a well-rounded understanding of the art world.
Our comprehensive syllabus combines creativity with skill-building exercises to help young learners progress toward artistic mastery.

Family Colours – Understanding warm and cool colour families.
Mixing Colours – Blending shades to create harmony and contrast.
2. Mediums
Oil Pastel – Techniques for layering, blending, and texture creation.
Poster Colours – Developing control, opacity, and bold composition.
3. Object and Life Study
Houses – Understanding structure, perspective, and shading.
Trees – Drawing textures and forms using light and shadow.
Vehicles – Learning proportion, shape, and detailing.
Animals & Birds – Capturing movement and form through observation.
Human Figure – Understanding body proportion and posture.
Portrait – Introduction to facial features, expressions, and structure.

"Dessin Academy, OMR Thazhambur branch was inaugurated on June 2022; the branch is successfully training young children and providing courses from fundamentals to advanced levels. The branch is open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 06:30 pm to 07:30 pm.
The branch provides Exhibition training and competition training and also gives one-on-one training for both National and International Students via offline and online classes."
Mrs P Mahalakshmi holds an M.Phil in Corporate Secretaryship a diploma in Painting and is a native of Chennai. She has served as a lecturer in a few pvt. Colleges for more than 5 years. She has always been keen and passionate towards teaching when came across Kalai Valarmani Artist DR R Rajendran MFA, founder of "Dessin Academy" and was captivated by his way of teaching Arts and painting. She started her career as an Art teacher at Dessin Academy in 2014. She runs 2 branches one in OMR and another in Thalambur. Online and offline classes are conducted for National and International children, from the basics to the advanced level. Many of her students have participated in competitions and won numerous awards. Under her guidance, her daughter U. Malvika, a Psychologist and a Diploma holder in Arts is also guiding advanced batches, who have won many State-level competitions and participated in national-level competitions.
