At Dessin Academy, our Fundamental Course – Colouring is the perfect first step for young children to explore their creativity and develop confidence in art. Designed for kids based on assessment, age, and grade, this beginner-level course focuses on helping children understand colours, learn how to apply them effectively, and create beautiful, vibrant artworks using oil pastels.
This course encourages imagination, observation, and fine motor development — helping every child express their inner artist through colour.
Our carefully structured syllabus introduces children to the exciting basics of colour and creative application:
1. Name of Colours – Identifying primary, secondary, and complementary colours.
2. Applying Colours – Learning proper colour filling techniques with control and neatness.
3. Mixing Colours – Understanding how to blend and mix colours to create new shades.
4. Oil Pastel Techniques – Using oil pastels to develop texture, tone, and vibrant artworks.
Each topic is taught through interactive activities, fun exercises, and creative projects, ensuring that every child enjoys learning while improving their artistic skills.

DR. Sudha Rajendran, BFA Painting, hails from Andaman and was born in 1989. She graduated from Alagappa University, Karaikudi, in 2009 and completed her Teacher's Training. Specializing in Child Psychology and Art, she has trained many special children under her guidance. After her marriage, she further honed her art skills under her husband, DR. Rajendran, and has been teaching art since 2010. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts (painting) from Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore.
Sudha Rajendran is not only a beacon of strength and knowledge but also a driving force behind the global recognition of Dessin Academy. As the director of the Dessin Academy of Fine Arts, her unwavering dedication has made it one of India's most sought-after art academies.
