Mr. R Rajendran, the founder of and ldquo;Dessin Academy and rdquo; was born and raised in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. At a very young age, Mr. R. Rajendran showed a knack for art. Through careful observation of his parents and with his art teacher Mr. Sukumar Mandal and rsquo;s mentoring, he nurtured his natural talent. Later, through the guidance of Mr. Alok Adhikari, he joined the Government College of Fine Arts, Chennai and graduated with a Master and rsquo;s Degree, majoring in Painting in the year 2009. In Chennai, he was guided by Artists Mr. S. Elayaraja, Mr. S. Sivabalan and Mr. Manoharan. He has exhibited his works widely at several solo and group exhibitions.
He was also awarded the All India Gold Medal by Young Star Association in the year 2000. Indian Traditional Elephants are focussed dominantly in the paintings of Mr. R Rajendran. However, also having a passion for children, he elected for a career in teaching. He believes that the ability to paint lies within us. Over the years he has shared his passion for drawing and painting by offering classes to beginners. With his guidance and patience, he has been able to bring out each person and rsquo;s creativity.
Miss. Aharika Baskar is an artist and an art instructor with high passion in practicing and teaching arts. She started this journey under the able guidance of her Guru Rajendran at the tender age of 7. Since then, she has won a lot of prizes and awards. She was conferred the prestigious Bal Shree award, the highest civilian award for children from the Central Govt. ,in the year 2013. She is also a recipient of the CCRT scholarship for the past four years. She has bagged over 200 prizes in various International, National and State level competitions. She also holds a Diploma in Painting from the Tamil Nadu Music and Fine Arts University. Her works have also been a part of many exhibitions. Her first exhibition was with her mentor and ndash; Guru and Sishya and rsquo;s and ldquo;Vanna Chitharargal and rdquo; in the year 2006, followed by subsequent exhibitions held by Dessin Academy at Lalit Kala Akademi in the years 2010 and 2012. She has also been a part of the Bangalore Road show held by Chitrakala Parishath, Karnataka. Her brilliant academic record and the many awards and accolades won in both drawing and dance are a testimony to her outstanding performances in all that she does. She has completed her Bachelors degree in Sociology from M.O.P Vaishnav College for Women and B.F.A in Painting at Dessin Academy. She is equally adept in Bharatanatyam, which She is learning under Guru Swamimalai. K. Suresh.

C.S.SHRINDHI Studying in 9th std at Bhavan and rsquo;s Rajaji Vidhyashram, Kilpauk, Chennai, has been learning drawing and painting at DESSIN ACADEMY for the past 7years. She pursues this art with great ardour. She has patience and passion for drawing which needs details and commitments. She is under training and inspiration from Master R.Rajendarn and Miss Aharika Baskar .She is always interested in learning new things in Arts.
She got 1 st -PRIZE in District level competition in October 2017 held by Tamil Nadu forest department.
She is learning BHARATHANATIYAM for the past 6yrs under Guru Swamimalai.K.Suresh she has been participating in various dance programs.
She has preformed dance programs in temples, Chennai book fair, Mahaballipuram and other places. She has completed YATHNAM Level 3 exam(dance) conducted by Prayathnam.
She has learnt martial arts kungfu and mastered Black belt. She is also interested in sports like volleyball, athletics, short put and got many prizes. She also excels in her studies.
Dr.C. Sankkara Barathi , Professor of Peadiatric Surgery, MMC and chief Peadiatric surgeon at Govt Kasturba gandhi hospital and Dr. J. Kavitha Dhevi , Asst.Professor of Anesthesiology, MMC are parents with a passion for Indian arts and tradition. They want their daughter to learn whatever she is interested and excel in that. and ldquo;We owe a huge thanks to Dessin Academy for joining us on this awesome Journey and ldquo;. They taught SHRINIDHI everything possible and it is a great place to learn Art.
